The sample below was hand plotted by marking the feet/time line from the dates below. The plotted yellow dots are the high and low tides. The green line represents the saw tooth plot, and the orange line is a imaginary sine wave representing a more realistic tidal flow.

Tip: The longer the tide line, the shorter the transition time with faster current. The shorter the tide line, the longer the transition time with slower current.
